I got the idea for the Battlefield 2 Tweaker shortly after the demo appeared, at the time I had an old video card (Geforce 5600XT) which wasn't officially supported. The game did work, but the performance was very poor: therefor I started checking out the configuration files of the game and made my own set for different kinds of systems.
After much trial & error when testing them on better systems I finally had them decently working. I wanted to make 'em public, but because it can cause some troubles when the files aren't replaced correctly, I decided to make a program around those files to automise the whole thing. The BF2 Tweaker was born...
This tool tweaks the graphical options of the game to increase performance and doesn't require anything of an installation. You just need to run the executable. Also, because I started this project on the demo, I wanted to make it compatible with it as well (as the retail).
